Store-to-CRM sync on AWS

Orders and subscriptions flow into the CRM on their own.

Illustration for Store-to-CRM sync on AWS

Overview

The challenge

Orders, subscription charges and customers had to be re-keyed from the store into the CRM by hand, and spikes in orders risked data getting lost.

Our approach

We built a serverless integration on AWS that receives store and subscription webhooks, processes them through a queue and syncs everything to the CRM.

Built with

  • AWS Lambda
  • SQS
  • SAM
  • Shopify
  • ReCharge
  • Keap

Standout features

  • Webhook receivers for orders, subscription charges and CRM postbacks
  • Queue-based processing, so traffic spikes don’t drop orders
  • Infrastructure as code with automated builds and tests

Everyday impact

No more exporting orders and re-keying customers into the CRM.

What we built

Inside the system

  • Webhook receivers

Endpoints for store orders, subscription charges and CRM postbacks, plus REST endpoints for lookups and updates.

  • Queue-based processing

Events are handed to a queue, so traffic spikes don’t drop orders.

  • Infrastructure as code

The whole stack is defined in templates with an automated build pipeline.

  • Tested handlers

Fifteen handlers with unit tests and sample event payloads.

How it works

From start to finish

  1. 01

The store or subscription platform sends a webhook.

  2. 02

A serverless function validates it and places it on a queue.

  3. 03

A worker processes the event and updates the CRM.

  4. 04

The CRM stays in sync without manual entry.

Serverless integration hub & admin console

Hundreds of serverless functions powering an entire suite of apps.

    Standout features

    • One back end for payments, commerce, SMS, voice, connected devices and AI
    • A typed SDK and live function catalogue, so every app integrates the same way
    • An admin console to deploy functions, manage scheduled jobs and watch database health

    Everyday impact

New apps launch on proven building blocks instead of rebuilding integrations each time.

    Wearable & device connection app

Connect a wearable in a couple of taps.

    Standout features

    • Device linking through an aggregator widget
    • A server-side proxy that keeps API keys out of the browser
    • Idempotent webhook intake and a preferred data source per metric

    Everyday impact

Users see all their fitness data in one place without typing anything in.

    Billing system integration & runbooks

A complex claims pipeline, documented and watched end to end.

    Standout features

    • Integration with a practice-management and billing system
    • Automated checks across nine business areas, each with a severity and an owner
    • Complete runbooks and handover documentation

    Everyday impact

Billing issues can be fixed by whoever is on duty, not just one expert.
